Chongshan Primary School in Hechi’s Du’an Yao autonomous county recently built an impounding reservoir with donations from Hong Kong’s Drop Saves Life Charity.

The 200 cubic-meter impounding reservoir raised funds of 100,000 yuan ($16,140), 75,000 yuan from the charity organization and 25,000 yuan from the school itself. Construction started on April 2 and is expected to finish on June 30. The reservoir will resolve drinking water problems for the teachers and students in the dry season.

Hong Kong’s Drop Saves Life Charity has donated living goods and school supplies such as clothes, schoolbags and pencils worth over 700,000 yuan to schools in several villages of Du’an county for more than two years. Last August, the organization also donated nearly 300,000 yuan to cure 10 children with congenital heart disease.
