A work on Yizhou’s public security bureau’s WeChat account picked up third prize at the WeChat, MicroBlog and micro film competition recently hosted by the Ministry of Public Security of the People’s Republic of China. Yizhou’s WeChat work was the only award winning work of Hechi, among the seven chosen works of Guangxi.

As the hometown of Liu Sanjie, Yizhou won the award thanks to its integration of folk song culture and grassroots policeman work stories into its WeChat account. The WeChat account used both words and pictures to show the devoted professional spirit and lofty sentiment of Liang Hongyuan, a policeman from Yizhou’s traffic management department, to help build up a good image of public security officers.

The competition, which first started in 2014, received more than 2,400 works in total, including over 2,000 WeChat accounts and MicroBlogs and over 400 micro films. All the awards were jointly reviewed by experts from organizations such as CCTV, the China Film Association and Communication University of China, and new media principals from Peoples Network, SINA, Tencent and so on.
