Total output value of Luocheng’s forestry reaches 920m yuan in 2014

The nursery markets in the Luocheng Mulam autonomous county are beginning to attract bustling crowds of tree farmers, forestry commission buyers and company representatives hoping to offset their emissions. Adequate rainwaters and moist soil abound in early spring, providing ideal condition for the plantation of trees.

Last year, Luocheng completed a total of 57,000 mu (3,800 hectares) of forest plantation, taking the local forested area to 2.94 million mu. The total forest coverage of Luocheng now stands at 67.25 percent. The total output value of the forestry industry in 2014 amounted to 920 million yuan ($147 million).
