In 2014, Hechi’s five pillar industries, including nonferrous metal, electricity, food processing, textile and chemical engineering, completed a gross output value of 33 billion yuan ($5.28 billion). The figures represent a 10 percent increase compared to the previous year and accounted for 89 percent of Hechi’s 2014 total industrial output value.

The generating capacity of hydropower achieved an accumulative total of 25.84 billion kilowatt-hours, an increase of 69.31 percent compared to the previous year, and is nearing the peak value experienced in 2008. The total output value of the electrical power industry surpassed the 10 billion yuan mark.

White wine and high quality drinking water, produced by enterprises with an annual income of 20 million yuan or more, achieved a total annual production increase of 74.3 percent and 35.8 percent respectively compared to the previous year, retaining the top spot in terms of production capacity and production value in Guangxi.
