2014 Guangxi “Baqun Cup” Basketball Game concludes

On the evening of Dec 15, the 2014 Guangxi “Baqun Cup” Basketball Game concluded in Debao county, Baise, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.

After five days’ competition, Pingguo county’s female basketball team won first place. Debao and Wuming female teams won the second and third places respectively. As for the male competition, Debao male team won first prize, Pingguo the second and Daxin achieved third place.

The Guangxi “Baqun Cup” Basketball Game had been held four times from 1985 to 1991. Then the competition broke off from 1991 to 2008. In 2009, it recovered from being held every two years to an annual competition, sponsored by old revolutionary base areas. Hechi, Chongzuo, Leye, Nandan, Donglan and Debao have all held the competition in the past six years. It has become one of the most important traditional mass sports competitions in Guangxi.

This year, more than 600 athletes in 36 male teams and 19 female teams from 36 counties (cities and districts) participated in the game, making it the largest-scaled one with the most teams and people.

Pingguo county in Baise was selected to hold the final match of the 2015 Guangxi “Baqun Cup” Basketball Game.
