“What a big harvest of citrus!” said the fruit grower Wei Yanming from Long'an town in Luocheng Mulam autonomous county, Hechi, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, on Dec 8.

In 2008, Wei Yanming took out loans of 30,000 yuan ($4,819.28) from the local cooperative to expand the planting area of Citrus Gonggan so as to realize a larger scale of production. Now, the fruit farm has expanded to more than 200 mu (13.3 hectares) with an expected output of 500,000 kilograms and economic benefits of more than three million yuan this year.

Next, Wei Yanming plans to add another 300 mu planting area of Citrus Gonggan and teach surrounding villagers the technology behind citrus planting in order to lead local residents to achieve joint prosperity.
