Bala Yao village in Tian’e holds 30th anniversary celebration
Bala Yao village, the only ethnic village in Tian’e county, Hechi, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, held its 30th anniversary celebration on Nov 27. The invited governmental officials and guests enjoyed themselves with the ethnic artistic performance as they celebrated the big day together.
The Bala Yao village was founded in 1984. It has a total of 22,534 people, 6,953 ethnic people of the Yao, Zhuang, Maonan and so on, accounting for 35 percent of the gross population.
It strives to form a characteristic modern agricultural industrial development model and become a county famous for fruits such as plums, nectarines and peaches.
Tian’e county is investing 265 million yuan ($43 million) in the experimental promotion of poverty alleviation and project construction of the 30th anniversary celebration of the Bala Yao village. A total of 46 major projects have been carried out, benefitting 22,534 people.
Before the celebration ceremony, the congratulation team of the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region gave Bala Yao village a cash gift of 900,000 yuan, Hechi gave a 200,000 yuan cash gift and Tian’e county gave 8.7 million yuan.
