Tian’e strives to develop tourism industry

In recent years, Tian’e’s county Party committee and county government have been striving to develop its local tourism industry by planning tourism projects, designing its operation management for scenic spots, developing rural tourism, undertaking local tourism marketing, applying for China Longevity Village recognition and constructing the Longtan Grand Canyon 4A National Tourist Attraction.

Tian’e county has integrated department funds and put over 90 million yuan ($14.7 million) into the construction of scenic spots and rural tourism areas such as Dashan Primeval Forest, Chuandong River Swallow Lake, Longtan Grand Canyon, Hongshui River, Longtan Sky Lake and Longtan Hydropower Station.

Tian’e has also developed rural tourism. It successively built the Nawang Three-Star Rural Tourism Zone, Eli Lake Guangxi Agriculture Tourism Demonstration Site, Dengli Shanquan Paradise Poverty Alleviation Demonstration Site and five other unique rural tourist attractions. In January, 2014, the Longtan Grand Canyon Scenic Spot was elected as one of Hechi’s Top 10 Scenic Spots. Many tourist attractions in Tian’e county have got star level ratings. Now, Tian’e is striving to develop Yunbang village into a “Guangxi Famous Rural Tourism Village” and develop Dulong village into a four-star rural tourist spot.

Tian’e county has re-evaluated and planned the development of its tourism resources. Hongshui River Waterfront Park and Qiuying Tourist Center have got an appraisal from expert team. The tourist center has completed its preliminary work and is ready to apply for central funds. Tian’e also reported its plan to the district development and reform commission and district tourism development and reform commission. The former commission has approved part of the revised plan of the development of the Great Canyon and given Tian’e the opportunity to apply for central funding of 20 million yuan ($3.26 million).

Tian’e county has completed the preliminary construction work of the Longtan Great Canyon National Forest Park such as land acquisition for the tourist center and Honghe River Culture Expo Park. It has also actively applied for “China’s Longevity Village”, enhancing the attraction of tourism sites in Tian’e.

In addition, Tian’e has tightened the regulation and supervision of its tourism industry. It founded the Tian’e Tourism Quality Supervision Institute and added three new formations to strengthen the management of its tourist market. Moreover, it established the Tian’e Tourism Venture to operate and manage its tourist attractions. It also founded Chuandong Management Party-mass Council and carried out regulations for the ticket prices of scenic spots.

Tian’e has improved its popularity through broadcasting TV programs on CCTV 4, such as Pure Honghe Rive and My Faraway Hometown – Thousands of Miles in Honghe, advertising on CCTV and Guangxi Television, organizing tourist activities and cooperating with well-known travel agencies and websites.

Tian’e also carried out a series of policies to support the investment and development of its tourism resources. It released Tian’e county’s Tourism Improvement and Preferential Measure to attract investment and promote the local tourism industry.
