New look for Yao village

Pingle Yao township in Fengshan county, Hechi city, in Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, embraced its 30th anniversary on Nov 18.

It has achieved great development in its infrastructure by concentrating on poverty alleviation, dilapidated house transformation and landscape engineering, and has substantially improved its living environment for the local Yao people. Since 2007, the number of reconstructed old and dilapidated buildings has reached 1,879 and subsidies have amounted to 33.11 million yuan ($5.4 million).
