Hechi wins 44 medals in Guangxi Ethnic Sports Meet

The 13th Guangxi Ethnic Sports Meet successfully ended at the Qinzhou Sports Center on the evening of Nov 3. Lan Tianli, director of the organizing committee of the Guangxi Ethnic Sports Meet and vice-chairman of the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, concluded the event at the closing ceremony. The Hechi delegation won a total of eight first, 19 second and 17 third place medals in the sports meet. It also achieved the Sportsmanship Award, and 14 athletes won the Sportsmanship Advanced Individual Award.

During the sports meet, Hechi’s deputy mayor and the head of the Hechi delegation, Li Li, attended events such as the spinning top game and dragon boat race to express her sincere appreciation of, and to cheer on, Hechi’s athletes.

The number of Hechi’s gold medals this time is the same as the last sports meet. However, the delegation won 23 more total second and third place awards than last time, representative of the improvement of Hechi’s overall strength in sports.

The handover ceremony of the sports meet flag was held during the closing ceremony. The 14th Guangxi Ethnic Sports Meet will be held in Chongzuo city in the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.
