Jinchengjiang district in Hechi, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, has achieved a remarkable effect in accelerating the reform of its medical-sanitary systems, developing the infrastructure of its public health and enhancing its service ability this year.

So far, it has received 8.45 million yuan ($1.38) in subsidies for the public health service project. The covering rate of electronic documents for local residents has reached 86.21 percent and the new rural cooperative medical system funding has amounted to 59.5 million yuan, with a participation rate of 99.4 percent.

Jinchengjiang district has developed 11 basic public health services, such as establishing health records for urban and rural residents, offering health education and providing vaccinations. Meanwhile, 13 primary health care institutions and 88 village clinics have all followed the national essential drug system. All the medicines are obtained through centralized procurement from the Internet and sold without added profit to effectively alleviate the burden of the people.

It is also accelerating the construction of the two township health centers, one community health service center and 13 village clinics, to ensure the benefit of a high quality public health service generally received at grass-roots level.
