Guangxi’s assessment team conducted an acceptance inspection on the construction of Hechi becoming a Guangxi garden city on Sept 27 and 28. The assessment team found that Hechi has reached the acceptable standards.

After a great deal of effort, Hechi has put together 151.17 hectares of park green land in the central city equivalent to 7.4 square meters per capita of green space. In the built-up areas, the green land covers 614.2 hectares with a greening rate of 29.2 percent and the green coverage area is 714 hectares with a green coverage ratio of 34 percent.

During the two days of inspection, the assessment team checked profiles and visited the Nationalities Park, Jinchengjiang Park, Party School Community, Highway Bureau Community, sewage treatment plants and household refuse processing plants to inspect Hechi’s construction in aspects such as urban landscaping, sewage treatment, garbage disposal and city appearance.

In the feedback conference on Sept 28, the assessment team highly appreciated Hechi’s garden city construction and expected Hechi to further enhance the construction of its urban water system as well as give full play to its regional features.

Tang Biaowen, a member of Hechi’s Standing Committee and executive vice mayor, said that Hechi will perfect its systems and upgrade its city to achieve better developments and benefit local residents.
