Hechi-Baise Expressway to start construction

Work on the four-lane, 177-km-long Hechi-Baise Expressway will start at the end of September. It will have 10 interchanges, nine toll stations, and 4 parking areas, and cost 15.79 billion yuan.

It will also help with the work on the Bama Longevity and Healthcare International Tourism Area, the national ecotourism area in the Hongshuihe River Basin, and with poverty relief and development in the old revolutionary base in western Guangxi. It will also provide much needed access to the sea area and to neighboring countries, and play and greatly increase the convenience and comfort of regional transportation.

And it is an important section of the Shantou-Kunming Expressway, a part of the national expressway network.
