On Oct 15, a research team from the Academy of Macroeconomic Research under the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) visited the Mission Hills campus of Hainan University (HNU). Led by Shen Bing, director of the management department of scientific research, the team's focuses ranged from institutional innovation in the Hainan Free Trade Port (FTP) and Sino-foreign cooperative educational programs to the introduction of educational resources and industry-education integration.

The team visited places such as the library, Jinzhao Residential College, COFFEE Barista Training Center, Student Entrepreneurship and Innovation Center, as well as the Language and Cultural Studies Center of HNU-ASU International College, commending the campus for its international facilities.

During the discussion, vice-president Gao Diangong emphasized that as a key university jointly constructed by the Ministry of Education and the Hainan Provincial People's Government, HNU has consistently met the needs of Hainan's development. It has advanced three critical reforms, including the full-credit system, the collegiate system, and the establishment of collaborative innovation centers. Additionally, it has implemented seven major tasks, such as an action plan for high-level international cooperation and exchange. These efforts aim to promote HNU's high-quality, leapfrog development, fully supporting the high-level opening of Hainan FTP and the implementation of national strategies.

Gao also highlighted HNU's actions, achievements, and plans in areas such as Sino-foreign cooperative educational programs, introduction of quality educational resources, and industry-education integration, hoping for further guidance and support from the team.

Shen engaged with attendees on topics such as the operational mechanism of Sino-foreign cooperative educational programs, quality control, ways of industry-education integration, and the effectiveness of talent cultivation. He also explored replicable experience, further affirming HNU's achievements in international education.
