In recent years, Nanmudu town in Kaiyang county has been exploring new models of land transfer, continually improving land utilization and productivity, enhancing agricultural efficiency, and increasing farmers' incomes, thus laying a solid foundation for rural vitalization.

The town adheres to the principle of "high-quality, concentrated and contiguous" farmland, promoting land consolidation to transform small, fragmented plots into larger, more productive ones. This approach addresses issues like fragmented farmland and generates economies of scale, driving the development of specialty agriculture.

This year, the vegetable supply base in Nanmudu town planted 546 mu (36.4 hectares) of chili peppers and 7,935 mu of flue-cured tobacco, achieving a "triple win" of increased incomes for cooperatives, farmers and village collectives.

In the town's Shengli village, the vegetable supply base has adopted large-scale greenhouse planting, covering hundreds of mu of chili peppers, with an average income of about 15,000 yuan ($2,116.5) per mu this year. The "land transfer + specialty industries" model is now flourishing throughout the town.

Looking ahead, Nanmudu plans to strengthen the services and management of farmers' cooperatives, effectively raising their development levels and increasing their capacity to benefit and connect with local farmers.
