Phosphorus chemical industry thrives in Kaiyang

Kaiyang county in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, recently held an investment promotion and inspection event for the Julisheng Project. During the event, the Kaiyang government signed an investment agreement with Guizhou Julisheng Chemical Co (Guizhou Julisheng) to develop the fine phosphorus chemical industry, with a total investment of 5 billion yuan ($702.50 million) allocated for the effort.

Guizhou Julisheng is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Sichuan Julisheng Chemical Co (Sichuan Julisheng), based in Shifang city, Sichuan province. According to the agreement, Guizhou Julisheng will invest the 5 billion yuan in Kaiyang to construct a phosphorus-related project, which will be implemented in three segments: fine phosphates, basic phosphorus chemicals, and specialty fertilizers, extending the industrial chain to cover the full range from raw materials to end products.

The project is expected to achieve an annual output value of 11 billion yuan and will be implemented in three phases, with full completion planned by the end of 2026.

Sichuan Julisheng has been deeply involved in the phosphorus chemical industry for decades and has long sought opportunities for investment outside the province. The chairman of Guizhou Julisheng said that Kaiyang offers thoughtful government services and transparent industrial support policies. These are the main reasons why the company chose the county for its project.

"As Kaiyang has become the core area in Guizhou's strategy to develop its new energy battery materials industry, the county is aiming to develop into an advanced manufacturing city led by phosphorus chemicals. In response, we expanded our investment plan from 2.1 billion yuan to 5 billion yuan," the chairman revealed.

In addition, Julisheng's substantial investment in Kaiyang has attracted significant attention from entrepreneurs in Shifang city's phosphorus chemical industry. "Such cross-provincial industry exchanges greatly benefit our business development, giving us a clearer understanding of industry trends and the environment for phosphorus industry development in Kaiyang. In the future, we will prioritize Kaiyang for phosphorus industry investments," said an entrepreneur from Shifang city after the promotional event.
