This year's Dragon Boat Festival holiday fell on June 8-10. People followed traditional customs by making and enjoying zongzi and hanging mugwort and calamus on their doors to dispel disasters and eliminate illnesses. Many also chose to travel during the holiday. These festive activities enrich people's holidays and boost economic development.

Zongzi, an iconic sticky rice dumpling wrapped in bamboo leaves, is a special highlight of the Dragon Boat Festival.

Tan Shoufen, a resident of Shuangliu town, Kaiyang county, started selling zongzi, salted duck eggs and preserved eggs a week before the festival. Her family has made a living from selling these snacks for over 20 years.

Meanwhile, at the county's Baimayu Hot Springs, special hot spring pools such as realgar hot spring pools, mugwort hot spring pools, and rose hot spring pools were introduced. The springs also offered special foods such as zongzi, salted duck eggs, realgar wine, and some local dishes. By continuously improving their products and services, they aimed to attract more tourists.
