Kaiyang achieves industrial transformation, upgrading

In recent years, Kaiyang county in Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has attached great importance to the transformation and upgrading of its industries.

And its hard work has paid dividends.

In 2022, Kaiyang achieved a total industrial output value of 23.48 billion yuan ($3.38 billion) for its enterprises above the designated size, representing year-on-year growth of 51.01 percent.

Guizhou Anda Energy Technology Co in the jurisdiction of Kaiyang is just one example of the county’s rapid industrial development.

Established in 1996, the company used to be primarily engaged in the production and sale of yellow phosphorus.

To address issues such as high energy consumption and challenges in sustaining the growth of its product lines, the company turned to the concept of new energy vehicles in 2009. It then invested a large portion of its sales revenue into the research and development of lithium-ion battery materials.

As problems such as stable battery discharges were gradually resolved, the first batch of iron phosphate produced by the company officially entered the supply chain of BYD, China's leading EV manufacturer, in 2010.

Today, the company is engaged in the research, development, production, and sale of new energy lithium-ion battery positive materials and precursors, mainly producing iron phosphate and lithium iron phosphate.

Its products are supplied to companies such as BYD and CATL, gradually forming an industrial chain from single iron phosphate to lithium iron phosphate and then to new energy power batteries.

The company has successfully made the transformational leap from traditional phosphating products to new energy materials and batteries, achieving a significant breakthrough in their development.
