The development of contract agriculture has brought extra income to farmers in Dianzhai village of Kaiyang county in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

Around 100 mu (6.67 hectares) of farmland in Dianzhai village has been used as an agricultural product planting base belonging to Guizhou Taipu Ecological Agriculture Co.

Li Changyao, the person in charge of Taipu Ecological Agriculture Co, said that local villagers use their land to cooperate with his company.

His company provides seedlings and technical guidance and then buys the agricultural products from villagers at an above-market price.

"This not only ensures the raw materials needed for the company's product processing, but also increases incomes for villagers, benefiting everyone involved," Li said.

At present, agricultural products such as native chickens, eggs, fish raised in rice fields, selenium-enriched potatoes, Guizhou specialty peppers, cornmeal, corn grits, and plateau honey have been sold to Fujian, Shanghai, Beijing, Shandong, Hunan and other places.
