Kaiyang ranks first in Guiyang in air quality assessment

Guiyang announced the results of the ambient air quality assessment of each district and county for the month of May on June 14, with Kaiyang county ranking first.

The May assessment results of the ambient air quality of all districts and counties in the city are as follows, from high to low: Kaiyang county, Qingzhen city, Guanshanhu district, Baiyun district, Xiuwen county, Wudang district, Guizhou Shuanglong Airport Economic Development Zone, Nanming district, Guiyang Economic and Technological Development Zone, Yunyan district, Xifeng county, Huaxi district.

According to the evaluation of the Ambient Air Quality Standard, the proportion of days that reached the standard in all districts and counties in May was 100 percent, and the comprehensive index of ambient air quality was between 1.68 and 2.32.

The air quality status of the State-controlled site shows that in May, the monthly average concentration of sulfur dioxide in Guiyang was 5 micrograms per cubic meter, down 16.7 percent year-on-year; the average monthly concentration of nitrogen dioxide was 16 mgs per cu m, down 11.1 percent year-on-year; the monthly average concentration of inhalable particulate matter was 25 mgs per cu m, a year-on-year decrease of 30.6 percent; and the monthly average concentration of fine particulate matter was 14 mgs per cu m, a year-on-year decrease of 22.2 percent.

Additionally, the daily average concentration of carbon monoxide did not exceed the standard, but remained the same year-on-year.
