Guizhou Kaiyang Chemical Co, based in Kaiyang county in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has made significant progress in advancing new type industrialization.

The Kaiyang company was established in 2006 and merged into Guizhou Kailin Group in 2018.

The Kaiyang company is the enterprise with the largest production capacity for synthetic ammonia in a single unit in Guizhou province, with a designed production capacity of 500,000 metric tons annually.

In 2021, it produced 455,300 tons of liquid ammonia, a record high.

Since the beginning of the 13th Five-Year Plan period (2016-20), the Kaiyang company has attached great importance to project technological transformation to boost production efficiency and cut costs.

Meanwhile, strong efforts have been made to boost environmental protection along with daily production.

From the production of raw materials to the output of products, the company strictly follows national standards, including the discharge of waste water, waste gas and noise.

The Kaiyang company has invested 44.70 million yuan ($8.30 million) in a waste water treatment system, which can handle 230 cubic meters of waste water per hour.

It also invested 57.63 million yuan to build a flue gas desulfurization device, with the desulfurization rate reaching 98.5 percent.

In 2021 alone, the Kaiyang company has invested 10.81 million yuan in environmental protection equipment and maintenance.

Various environmental protection facilities are currently operating stably, and the main emission indicators such as sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, ammonia nitrogen and other flue gas and wastewater pollutants are being discharged normally.
