Kaiyang soldier given military merit award

Deng Bo, a soldier from Kaiyang county – administered by Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – was given a military merit award and a cash gratuity on Feb 21.

Deng was admitted to the Third Military Medical University of the Chinese People's Liberation Army in 2007.

He is understood to have quickly adapted to life in the army – studying military subjects seriously and training hard at honing his various skills.

Deng is currently serving in the People's Liberation Army Hong Kong Garrison. During his tenure there, he is said to have completed various training particularly well and as a result received a third-class merit award for his outstanding performance and work.
