Kaiyang to renovate more than 3,600 households in 2022

To improve people's livelihoods, Kaiyang county in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, is renovating and upgrading old residential communities.

In 2021, Kaiyang successfully renovated 12 old residential communities that included 525 households and covered a total area of 42,500 square meters.

A total of 5.52 million yuan ($150,037.51) was invested in the renovation project.

The dormitory for the teachers at Kaiyang No 1 Middle School is a typical example of the county's renovation work.

It is reported that a total of 1.61 million yuan was invested in the project, which included 36 households.

To date, roof waterproofing covering 792 sq m has been completed, 21 corridor lights have been replaced or repaired, and 21 fire extinguisher boxes and 42 fire extinguishers have been installed.

Next, sewage, rainwater facilities and parking lots on the ground will be upgraded to meet the needs of local residents.

In the new year, Kaiyang plans to renovate 3,646 households in old residential communities.
