Kaiyang county wraps up People's Congress

The first session of the 18th People's Congress of Kaiyang county – administered by Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – officially concluded on Jan 10.

The congress was scheduled to host 227 deputies, but only 224 deputies were present, which nonetheless established a quorum sufficient to pass resolutions.

The meeting passed resolutions of the first session of the 18th People's Congress of Kaiyang county on the government work report, the implementation of Kaiyang county's national economic and social development plan in 2021 and the national economic and social development plan in 2022.

It also passed resolutions on the implementation of the 2021 budget and the resolution of the 2022 budget.

In addition, the event passed resolutions on the work reports of the Standing Committee of the People's Congress of Kaiyang county, the People's Court of Kaiyang County and the People's Procuratorate of Kaiyang County.

The meeting also summarized and reviewed the economic and social development achievements made over the past five years and set forward plans and goals for the next five-year period. 

In the following five years, plans are for Kaiyang county to prioritize industrial development, rural revitalization, as well as improvements to the business environment and the population's quality of life and standard of living.
