Relocated residents in Kaiyang bask in new surroundings

Kaiyang county in Guiyang -- the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- has reportedly made great progress in providing great convenience for its relocated residents, who are savoring their new surroundings.

The county has the largest number of residents in Guiyang that were relocated for the purpose of poverty alleviation.

Efforts have reportedly been made to help the relocated, by boosting their employment, advancing medical services, education and social insurance, and improving regional transportation.

To date, Kaiyang county is said to have achieved full coverage of community medical insurance, family doctors, social assistance, nine-year compulsory education and pre-school education -- and has carried out more than 40 community education activities.

It has also held around 30 employment and entrepreneurship training sessions and provided 610 new job positions, helping 2,285 residents to get employment.

Relying on "internet + community governance" big data technology, Kaiyang is said to have inputted information on the relocated people into the "Big Data Platform for Poverty Alleviation and Relocation" program. 

The online platform has helped resolve 20 problems through investigations, interviews and other working mechanisms, as well as collected and handled public feedback on more than 150 questions.
