Farmers in Gelin village, Longgang town, Kaiyang county have been busy picking peaches in recent years.

"This year, all the peaches will be sold on an order basis, and all peaches have been ordered by large supermarkets," according to Wang Xianrong, chairman of Guishuo Fruit Industry Co.

"My peaches are currently in short supply on the market," Wang added.

Since 2017, villagers in Gelin village started to grow peaches with the founding of Guishuo Fruit Industry Co in a move made by the local government to help farmers increase their incomes.

A peach plantation covering an area of 1,000 mu has now been cultivated, providing around 300 jobs for local people.

Villagers working on the peach plantation can each earn around 80 yuan per day, and with their share of cooperatives and land dividends, a single villager can increase their income by tens of thousands of yuan per year.
