A tea-themed promotion activity was held on April 21 in Kaiyang county of Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, according to local media reports.

Hosted by the Guiyang Bureau of Culture and Tourism, it is part of a series of activities aiming to promote the development of Guiyang's culture and tourism sector.

Participants visited Lanzhi tea house in Tiankan village of Nanlong township. Established in 2008, it is a tea enterprise integrating tea planting, processing, sales, tea-art training, tea culture promotion, cultural tourism, tea events, folk customs and healthcare.

The tea house now has organic selenium-enriched tea gardens covering more than 3,000 mu (200 hectares). It was rated as a three-star tea house in 2017 by China's national tea house rating committee.

Visitors to the tea house can experience a series of steps in the tea-making process, such as tea-leaf picking and roasting, according to a director.

The series of activities will cover six themes and will last until November, promoting Guiyang's culture, tourism and characteristic resources.
