Kaiyang county increases awareness of food safety

Kaiyang county in Guiyang, the capital of Southwest Chinas Guizhou province, held a health publicity event on Feb 4 to promote food safety during the upcoming Spring Festival holiday.

It was jointly organized by the county's health bureau and center for disease control and prevention to help control and prevent the COVID-19 pandemic.

In addition to the promotion of food safety information, a 10-question food safety quiz activity was held. Those who correctly answered five or more questions could receive a prize.

The event proved popular. During the activity, organizers distributed more than 2,000 promotional materials and more than 200 prizes.

Local authorities said that during the Spring Festival, the county would carry out a series of publicity activities on food safety and healthy dietary choices using LED displays, health education bulletin boards and the WeChat public account of the center for disease control and prevention.

The county will also promote COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control measures.

The activity aims to raise people's food safety awareness and self-protection ability, according to local authorities.
