Kaiyang street receives provincial-level honor

China Selenium Street in Kaiyang county in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, stood out from 14 nominees to win the provincial-level honor for modern service gathering zone, according to an announcement made by the Guizhou Development and Reform Commission on Dec 24.

China Selenium Street was officially opened on Sept 22, 2020. It is the country's first cultural, tourism, and business gathering place showcasing the selenium-enriched industry and their products.

It focuses on the characteristics of the selenium-enriched industry, as well as related historical and cultural advantages, aiming to provide selenium-enriched industry services and products for global customers.

Currently, a total of 210 million yuan has been invested to operate the street. Around 100 enterprises, institutes, and stores have settled on it, providing 500 job opportunities and helping around 3,000 registered impoverished people increase their incomes by selling selenium-enriched products.

Seven supporting platforms, including the selenium industry comprehensive service platform, the e-commerce public service platform, the tourism consulting and information service platform, the comprehensive management service platform, the commerce comprehensive service platform, as well as the selenium-enriched product quality inspection service platform, have basically satisfied the needs of enterprises, institutions, and merchants operating on the street.

The total sales on the street have reached 9 million yuan, of which 7 million yuan in sales revenue was reached through online marketing channels.
