Kaiyang workshop contributes to poverty alleviation

A mobile phone speaker production workshop in Jinzhong town of Kaiyang county has helped lift local impoverished people out of poverty.

The workshop is a crucial poverty alleviation project of Jinzhong town.

It adopts a "company + cooperative" operation model. Juhe Electronic Technology Development Co is responsible for providing raw materials and technical guidance to the workshop and purchasing the finished products. 

Poverty-stricken farmers that receive skills training can work in the workshop during the off-season for agriculture.

"What we do is paid by the piece, and we can earn 80-150 yuan per day," said Ding Guimin, an employee at the workshop.

"We can also take care of our families," Ding added.

According to Wang Yonggang, the person in charge of the workshop, there are 11 steps in the mobile phone speaker production process. Based on the current mobile phone speaker production scheme, the workshop's annual output is expected to reach 600,000 pieces, and the annual revenue will reach nearly 1 million yuan ($150,000) by the end of 2020.

The workshop has currently employed 48 impoverished farmers and helped them obtain an income of 2,500 to 4,000 yuan per month.
