Construction restarted on Zongsi Road in Kaiyang Economic Development Zone in Kaiyang county of Guiyang city on Nov 23.

Zongsi Road will connect Fuwu Avenue to Guding Road in the zone, with a planned total length of 1,232.89 meters.

It has a road width of 33 meters and a bidirectional six-lane design. The project has received a total investment of 76.15 million yuan ($11.43 million).

Construction on the road project started as early as 2015.

About 800 meters of the road stretching from Fuwu Avenue has been nearly completed, and roughly 550 meters of the road has gone into use.

A shortage of funds and the relocation of people living in areas along the road caused the suspension of the project construction, according to an official from Kaiyang county's government.

This year, to further optimize the business environment and provide reliable transportation conditions for the enterprises settled in Kaiyang Economic Development Zone, the project has restarted.

When Zongsi Road is fully completed and opened to traffic, it will form a ring road connecting the different industry areas in the zone with Jiancai Avenue and Keji Avenue.

It will also provide convenient transportation conditions for the implementation of enterprise projects and the passage of nearby residents.
