Kaiyang students give polished performance in opera event

Students from 18 primary and secondary schools gave polished performances during an event called "Opera entering into campus" -- held on Dec 4 in Kaiyang county in Guiyang, capital of southwestern China's Guizhou province, according to the organizers.

These students gave a total of 14 programs, including giving Peking opera shows and Huangmei opera shows, traditional rural folk song and dance originating from Beijing and Anhui respectively.

After a tense competition, first prizes went to Kaiyang No 1 Primary School, Kaiyang No 4 Primary School and Kaiyang No 5 Middle School.

Six other schools won second prizes, including Kaiyang No 2 Primary School and Huali Primary School 

The event, sponsored by the publicity department, was held in Kaiyang People's Hall. It was the first time for Kaiyang to hold an event of such kind.
