The Ministry of Culture and Tourism launched the third batch of national tourism leisure blocks on Nov 1. Two blocks from Guizhou province made the list, including the Qingyan Ancient Town block in Huaxi district, Guiyang, the province's capital.

Qingyan Ancient Town is known as the "Stone City" because it features stone walls, stone-paved roads, and stone bridges. The town has a rich and profound history. Its buildings are nestled amongst the mountains, and the city walls were built with enormous stones on cliffs.

Many ancient buildings from the Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty (1368-1911) have been preserved, totaling 37 sites, including nine temples, eight shrines, five pavilions, two ancestral temples, one palace, one tower, one courtyard, and one government office.
