The groundbreaking ceremony for the Huaxi Campus of the Guiyang Demonstrative School was held on Oct 19 in Huaxi district, Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
The school, located on the west side of Tianyuan Road in Huaxi district, is a major livelihood project. With a total investment of 1.5 billion yuan ($207.15 million) and a total construction area of 188,900 square meters, it will be capable of accommodating up to 100 classes.
It will meet the boarding needs of 5,000 teachers and students and will play a significant role in further enhancing the high-quality educational resources and promoting balanced education in Guiyang City and Gui'an New Area.
The campus' planned completion date is over two years from now, and it will be built in two phases. It will include teaching buildings, laboratory buildings, a library, a music and art building, an auditorium, an all-weather sports field, student dormitories, a cafeteria, a soccer field, and outdoor basketball courts, among other facilities.
