In Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, Huaxi district will enhance the construction of an all-for-one tourism demonstration zone during the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25).
It will create several international mountain sports and leisure resorts and national-level tourist resorts and promote the tourism industry's high-quality development, striving to build the district into an elite all-for-one cultural tourism innovation zone.

The construction of significant tourism industry projects in the district is currently progressing in an orderly manner; these projects include Gaopo Yunding Grass Scenic Area, Guizhou Tourism Distribution Center, Huaxi Lake Urban Complex and Tianhetan Comprehensive Service Center (Yueyuan Hotel).
In recent years, Huaxi district has successfully built three rural tourism villages and 15 top-quality rural tourism hotels and launched five rural tourism routes.
The district will also plan a batch of cultural, entertainment, exhibition and festival activities to boost the weekend economy and holiday economy, as well as create three to five agricultural sightseeing attractions to draw more tourists.

This year, the district plans to support the development of the high-end hospitality industry and encourage non-standard accommodation options such as country inns. The goal is to create a multi-level tourism accommodation system and improve the overall tourism service system.
Since the beginning of 2021, the overall growth of Huaxi district's cultural and tourism industry has been steady – despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
According to statistics, as of December, the district had received 36.68 million visits, a year-on-year recovery of 84.07 percent, generating total tourism revenue of 42.08 billion yuan ($6.5 billion), a year-on-year recovery of 89.5 percent.
