Guiyang Tsinghua High School was established on May 1, 1938. It is a public high school located in Huaxi district, Guiyang, the capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
The school covers an area of 85,300 square meters, and the green area of the campus is 4,058 sq m. Ordinary classrooms and special classrooms, student dorms and canteens, teacher data rooms and student reading rooms, laboratories and experimental instruments together comprehensively meet teaching needs.
It now has more than 3,000 teachers and students, and there are 40 classes in the school. There are 150 full-time teachers, including four special-grade teachers and 62 senior teachers.
In August 1951, Guiyang Tsinghua High School was taken over by the country as a public school. In December 1982, the provincial government rated it as a key high school. In 1992, the State Education Commission selected it as a “national famous high school”. In June 2006, it was awarded the title of provincial demonstration high school.
Over the years, the school has focused on the exploration of teaching management, teaching quality, and teaching innovation, while operating with limited student numbers.
It has cultivated a large number of qualified talents for the country, many of whom have become middle-level and senior cadres of the Party, senior generals of the army, scientists, diplomats, writers and artists.
