Since the start of the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), Guanshanhu district in Guiyang city has advanced its vision of a livable district through coordinated development and management, significantly enhancing urban appeal.

Urban space has continued to expand under the strategy of eastward expansion, westward advancement, southern integration, northern connectivity, and central upgrading. The district's built-up area has reached 85 square kilometers, with the urbanization rate expected to hit 85.3 percent.

City quality has also improved. The total length of municipal roads has exceeded 580 kilometers, forming a complete "nine vertical, nine horizontal" road network. Urban renewal projects, including shantytown and old neighborhood renovations, have reshaped the district, while more high-quality housing and communities are taking shape.

Guanshanhu has further strengthened its ecological foundation by prioritizing green development.

Today, the district is home to three lakes, 10 rivers, a 70-km greenway loop and 219 parks. With air quality rated good or excellent more than 99 percent of the time and the green coverage rate reaching 43.4 percent, opening a window to greenery and stepping outside into a park has become everyday life for local residents.
