Kuro Games secures TGA Players' Voice Award
The Game Awards (TGA) 2025, known as the "Oscars of the gaming industry", announced its winners on Dec 12 Beijing time. Wuthering Waves, an open-world action game by Tianhe-based Kuro Games, won the Players' Voice Award.
This marks the second time a Chinese original game IP has claimed the prestigious international honor, following Black Myth: Wukong.
Since its global release on May 23, 2024, Wuthering Waves has topped the App Store Free Charts in 107 countries and regions and ranked among the top-grossing in multiple markets. Before this award, the game had already earned multiple domestic and international accolades for its narrative design, technical execution, and operational performance, and was also shortlisted for Guangdong's 2025 Outstanding Original Online Games.
Kuro Games attributes its global reach to strong local industry support. In 2024, Guangzhou's gaming revenue exceeded 140.67 billion yuan ($20.01 billion), accounting for 43.2 percent of China's total. As a key hub of tech and culture in Guangzhou, Tianhe district continues to optimize policies, build collaborative platforms, and foster collaborative innovation to strengthen the digital ecosystem and support high-quality local development.
In October, Kuro Games moved into its new headquarters in Tianhe Smart City, entering a new phase of development.

The game has previously been honored with awards such as Google Play's Best Ongoing Game, the Hollywood Music in Media Award for Best Song in a Video Game, and the Partnership Award and Users' Choice Award at the 2025 PlayStation Partner Awards. [Photo/WeChat account: tianhefabu]
