Underground space of Lingshan Island Point Area to have five major themes

The main structure of the Nansha Ling shan Island Point Area's underground space is officially capped. It is the first underground commercial complex integrating transportation, civil air defense, and commercial and leisure functions.

The underground space includes an integrated pipe corridor, the public underground space, subway platforms and an interval layer. It is about 1 km long with a building area of about 40,000 square meters. Its deepest foundation pit is 20.7 meters.

The project has integrated advanced design concepts, placing pedestrians first and exploring more space value in the city. In addition, China Communications Construction Company Limited has also introduced BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology to effectively solve problems such as pipeline collision and space clearance analysis and used information technologies to guarantee the quality of underground space engineering.

The underground space will be concentrated onthe five theme areas including an exquisiteliving alley, a voguedigital street, a colorful boutique town, an avant-garde brand port and a tasty delicacy island, which are respectively referred to as“alley, street, town, port and island". It is designed as the most fashionable sunshine living area in the future central business district.

Therefore, in terms of design and buildings, the underground space of Lingshan Island Point Area is closer to civilians than other large-scale buildings. The starting point of its construction is not purely for obtaining economic benefits, but to create a high-quality business environment by integrating advanced design ideas. 

“The design concept of Lingshan Island Point Area's underground space is to guide urban activities to the underground, create a low-carbon and comfortable slow-moving system with a relatively low public investment, explore more urban space value, and eventually achieve the planning effect of integrating space resources,”said He Jinming, chief engineer of the General Contracting Project Manager Department of the Pearl Bay Project in Nansha New Area.“Through the above-ground and underground integrated design, the construction concept of 'low carbon energy saving' will be implemented and urban rail transit and underground commercial streets and parking lots will be connected. In this way, we will realize the green integration of transportation, life and business; at the same time, we will build a three-dimensional walking networkabove groundand underground to improve the urban low-carbon travel system."
