Guangzhou attracts Finnish tech giants for green collaboration

The China (Guangzhou) and Finland Green Energy Sustainable Development Industry and Industrial Digitization Matchmaking Conference was hosted on April 15 in Guangzhou Development District. 

This conference calls for a green and low-carbon economy that features new energy development co-led by China and Finland as it was attended by Leena-Kaisa Mikkola, Finnish ambassador to China.

As a result, the conference has facilitated fruitful exchanges and collaborations, with a bridge of friendship and cooperation built between over 30 leading Finnish companies and more than 20 Chinese enterprises.

The China Green Development Report was also released during the event by the EU-China Joint Innovation Center (EUCJIC), providing a comprehensive analysis of China's green development landscape and its international cooperation prospects.

Mika Klemettinen, the Finnish consul general for trade and innovation stationed in Shanghai, expressed optimism about the potential collaborations, aiming to leverage Finnish expertise in smart and clean energy solutions to contribute to the transformation of Guangzhou's energy landscape.

Guangzhou's commitment to green energy was shown by its impressive achievements. In a virtuous circle, the green energy sector contributes significantly to the city's industrial output.

Districts like GDD also boast a complete green manufacturing ecosystem, further enhancing their attractiveness to potential investors and collaborators.

Guangzhou aims to continue its upward trajectory in attracting foreign investment, building upon the initiatives to bring about investment promotion action. The conference not only showcased the potential for collaboration but also signaled Guangzhou's commitment to sustainability and international cooperation in the green energy sector.
