Foreign talents take part in activities held in Guangzhou.

On Dec 24, Guangzhou officially launched the "Charming Guangzhou" channel as its first comprehensive information service platform for foreign talents during the 2024 Convention on Exchange of Overseas Talents and the 26th Guangzhou Convention of Overseas Chinese Scholars in Science and Technology.

The channel was jointly developed by the Foreign Talents Research Center of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security and the Guangzhou Municipal Science and Technology Bureau (Guangzhou Foreign Expert Bureau). Based on the Ministry's comprehensive service platform for foreign talents, it is one of the first city-specific channels to be launched nationwide.

It is also Guangzhou's first comprehensive information service platform for foreign talents, featuring an all-English interface to provide comprehensive information services for foreign talents. 

According to introductions, the "Charming Guangzhou" channel has several key functions. 

As a life assistant, the channel will provide immersive introductions to living scenarios for foreign talents in Guangzhou and related information services, covering various aspects such as food, entertainment, transportation, sightseeing, healthcare, and Chinese language learning.

Additionally, as a work assistant, the channel will integrate authoritative policy services and precise policy interpretations to facilitate foreign talents coming to work and working in Guangzhou.

As a job search and recruitment assistant, the channel will provide job supply and demand information for foreign talents in Guangzhou, offering a centralized matching platform for employers and job seekers. Guangzhou offers abundant preferential policies for foreign talents coming to work here, and the channel will regularly publish job information in Guangzhou, showcasing key and latest positions on the homepage.

In recent years, the number of foreign talents working in Guangzhou has increased by 32.4 percent compared to the end of 2019, ranking third nationwide. Since this year, Guangzhou has established 7,558 new foreign-invested enterprises, a year-on-year increase of 26.9 percent.

The cumulative number of Fortune Global 500 companies that have invested in Guangzhou has reached 362. Guangzhou is ranked 22nd in the Globalization and World Cities Study Group and Network Ranking.
