A two-day agricultural matching event opened in Guangzhou, Guangdong province, on July 11 under the Guangdong-Guangxi paired cooperation framework.
Over 100 premium local farm products from Guilin, Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region, went on display, with more than ten production and sales cooperation pacts sealed on the opening day.
The event was held at the Guangdong Regional Cooperation Consumption Assistance Product Trading Center, a comprehensive consumption assistance service platform jointly established by the Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs of Guangdong province and the Baiyun Industrial Investment Group.
It links Guilin's eco-friendly agricultural goods with robust consumption demand across the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, granting local rural specialties access to mature Guangdong sales channels.
Five leading agricultural firms from Guilin showcased their highland honey, mountain fruits, monk fruit (Grosvenor momordica), preserved treats and organic tea. Fresh vegetables and the city's signature Lipu taro drew huge crowds and sold out quickly. All exhibited products will be permanently stocked at the trading center and promoted across mainstream e-commerce platforms.
Deng Yansong, deputy director of the Guilin bureau of agriculture and rural affairs, outlined the city's solid agricultural advantages. Guilin holds 29 certified green landmark agricultural products, two national agricultural industrial clusters and six industrial chains each valued at over 10 billion yuan ($1.47 billion).
Its citrus and persimmon output ranks top nationwide, and its 2025 agricultural output value ranks among the highest in Guangxi. Deng called for long-term stable supply partnerships with Bay Area purchasers.
Zhou Jinzhong, deputy Party secretary of the Guangdong-Guangxi cooperation work team, highlighted the two regions' complementary strengths: Guangdong boasts mature logistics and market networks, while Guangxi boasts abundant ecological farm resources.
In 2025, Guangdong purchased agricultural products worth more than 25 billion yuan from Guangxi. Moving forward, authorities will prioritize brand cultivation, transforming short-term supportive sales into sustainable industrial growth driven by local endogenous vitality.
