The 2026 schedule for traditional festival activities at the Longji Rice Terraces in Guilin in South China's Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region has been officially released, offering visitors a rich array of cultural and tourism experiences.
The diverse activities at Longji Rice Terraces not only highlight the region's intangible cultural heritage but also provide visitors with an opportunity to deeply experience the cultures of the Zhuang and Yao ethnic groups.
During the Chinese New Year holiday from Feb 17 to 22, visitors will be able to participate in the "Golden Dragon Spring Festival" torch and fireworks show and folk celebrations, offering them the chance to get immersed in the festive atmosphere and experience traditional Zhuang culture.

On special dates such as Jan 1, June 30, Sept 1, and Dec 31, the scenic area will host the "Night Longji" event, showcasing the stunning night views of the terraces.

On Apr 19, the Huangluo Yao Village will hold the Long Hair Festival, featuring the coming-of-age ceremony of Yao ethnic girls and their long hair culture.

From May 1 to 2, the Longji Ancient Zhuang Village will celebrate the Plowing Festival, during which visitors can witness the field worship ceremony and terrace farming activities.

The Shuyang Festival in June and the Clothes Drying Festival in July will offer a variety of activities including traditional performances, planting competitions, and Yao weddings.

From January to March, the scenic area will become home to a unique winter water conservation landscape, allowing visitors to admire the misty mirror-like terraces.
