Nansha unveils 4 major initiatives to build high-level talent hub
On Dec 6, the 2025 High-Level Talent Hub Construction Forum and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Talent-Driven Modern Industrial System Construction Forum were held in Nansha district, Guangzhou.
Liu Wei, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Guangzhou Municipal Committee and secretary of the CPC Nansha District Committee, stated that Nansha will fully utilize its role as a major national strategic platform to drive leapfrog development through the "Five-Port Linkage" strategy, aiming to establish five highlands in industry, innovation, openness, talent, and livability.
Nansha will implement four major initiatives to build a talent hub:
First, strengthen collaboration with the Hong Kong and Macao free ports by establishing a Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Talent Cooperation Office, promoting mutual recognition of professional qualifications, and making it easier for talent to access resources.
Second, enhance the Nansha "Science City" by leveraging networks of major research institutions and large-scale facilities to attract high-end scientific research talent.
Third, foster the hub role of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou) to develop an international talent platform, promote innovation communities, and establish science and innovation funds.
Fourth, boost the city's appeal to young people by implementing youth talent policies, improving living conditions, and drawing in young talent.
Liu emphasized that Nansha will deepen the integration of innovation, industry, capital, and talent chains, attract global talent through higher-level openness and a high-quality ecosystem, and plan to recruit over 100,000 recent university graduates in the next five years. As a leading force in developing a high-level talent hub in the Greater Bay Area, Nansha will contribute to regional growth and the progress of Chinese modernization.
