The 1st Artificial Intelligence Safety Summit was held at Bletchley Park in the United Kingdom from Nov 1 to 2.

Representatives from nearly 30 countries and regions, including the United States, the UK, the European Union, China, and India, gathered together to discuss the rapid development of AI technology and its associated risks and opportunities.

In the field of technology within China, a research team from Tsinghua University published their work on the world's first intelligent computing chip, ACCEL, in Nature magazine. The chip significantly outperforms current high-performance commercial chips, paving the way for the development of future ultra-high-performance chips.

In biomedicine, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is on the verge of approving the first vaccine against the chikungunya virus, a significant breakthrough in combating mosquito-borne diseases, which has the potential to open a new chapter in disease prevention and control worldwide.

In environmental protection, a research team led by He Qiang, a professor at Fudan University, published their findings in Science as a cover article. Their research provides new solutions to the global challenge of vegetation restoration and offers new directions for ecological restoration.
