Advanced manufacturing industry forum held in Shenzhen

The Advanced Manufacturing Industry Innovation and Development Forum was held in Shenzhen on April 7, 2023. The event was jointly organized by the Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology of Chinese Academy of Sciences (SIAT) and the Organizing Committee of the GSF.  

Attended by over 200 participants, the forum focused on exploring cutting-edge technologies in the field of advanced manufacturing, the integration of industry and talent development, and new trends in cluster development.

Liu Chenli, vice-president of Shenzhen Institute of Advanced Technology of CAS and deputy director of the Academic Committee of SIAT, said that SIAT, as a national strategic scientific and technological force, has explored new paths and accumulated experience for deepening reform and expanding opening up. It has established an efficient transformation mechanism for scientific and technological achievements, forming a full-chain enterprise cultivation model of "scientific-research-transformation-industry".

In the future, SIAT will expand cooperation with technology enterprises, research centers, and universities in Shenzhen and even the Greater Bay Area as a whole. It will further expand and enhance the appeal and influence of the innovation center, and build a comprehensive platform that integrates innovation, talent and industrial chain.

Yang Yi, director of industry-university-research cooperation of the Organizing Committee of the GSF, pointed out that they will adhere to innovation as the guide and accelerate the construction of an innovation ecosystem with advanced manufacturing industry clusters as the main body.

SIAT of CAS signed cooperation projects with the Organizing Committee of the GSF, Wuxi IoT Innovation Promotion Center, Chengdu-Chongqing Electronic Information Advanced Manufacturing Industry Cluster during the forum. In addition, the 2022 Shenzhen Robot Industry Development White Paper was officially issued at this forum.

During the round table dialogue, academician Yu Xuefeng; Yu Ying, vice-dean of Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation College; Li Wenxian, dean of Sino German Intelligent Manufacturing College at Shenzhen University of Technology and other experts exchanged views on topics such as the "20+8" advanced manufacturing industry in Shenzhen, the cultivation of outstanding engineer talents, and industrial cluster collaborative innovation.

During the same period, 2023 Advanced Manufacturing Industry Cluster Exhibition was held, demonstrating the cutting-edge research results and industrial direction in emerging strategic industries and future industries such as network and communication, semiconductors and integrated circuits, intelligent sensors, high-end medical devices, and industrial internet. As a representative of advanced innovation platforms, the Greater Bay Area Science Forum has appeared at the exhibition with over 80 enterprises.
