The first anniversary session of the Greater Bay Area Science Forum Brand Development Seminar & Symposium was held in Nansha, Guangzhou on Dec 13 with a view to promoting the construction of a global scientific and technological innovation highland in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

At the same time, he expressed the original intention of organizing this seminar, which is to gather the wisdom of all parties to argue for its development.

Nie put forward several expectations for the future development of the GSF. He said that we should first face challenges and seize opportunities, and explore a road with the characteristics of the Forum; second, we need to build a brand matrix to achieve global communication; third, we need to build a global forum of well-known scientists, support the implementation of the Nansha Plan, and achieve a global scientific community.

For its development, she believed that the first task is to gather experts and talents, expand influence and enable local development; second, it’s necessary to build a forum network to enter the mainstream topic setting circle of high-end international conferences; third, think tank cooperation should be strengthened; and fourth the forum brand must be promoted in the multilingual world.

Zhao Hong, professor of the School of Economics and Management of the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, believes that the mechanism of holding the forum is the same as that of developing a brand. Zhao said that we should think about how to stimulate their unique memory of the brand so that they have an emotional response whenever they see it. To build a forum brand with international influence, a good job should be done in three dimensions of content upgrading: first, design high-quality content; second, diversify the content; third, integrate online and offline resources, bundle innovative high-tech resources, and create independent IP rights.

Chen Shi, deputy editor in chief of the China Foreign Languages Bureau and director of the International Communication Development Center, said that to make the forum a good brand, we should first explore the unique advantages and values of international communication of the Greater Bay Science Forum, given that the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Great Bay Area is one of the regions with the highest degree of openness and the strongest economic vitality in the world. We should then create forum cultural products with communication value.

Zhang Lihui, President of Caixin Media, proposed that we should do everything we can to give full play to our professional ability. We should make the content solid, and the agenda setting should be new, broad and global, and kept in line with the interest topics and cutting-edge trends of international mainstream common concern. Multi-platform communication must be used to expand brand influence under the dual support of public and private domain traffic, and the characteristics of innovation highlands and talent highlands in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area should be highlighted by holding innovation competitions. Finally, we should carry out industry docking meetings, give full play to industrial and technological talent, seize the capital and market advantages of the Greater Bay Area, and promote the transformation of achievements.
