Fan Chunhai

Fan Chunhai, a biochemist, is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a researcher of the Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and a chair Professor and doctoral supervisor of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

In 2007, he won sponsorship from the National Science Foundation for Distinguished Young Scholars. In 2011, he became the chief scientist of the Major Scientific Research Program (Nano) of the Ministry of Science and Technology. He received the 11th Chinese Academy of Sciences Outstanding Youth Award in 2012. In 2017, he was elected a member of the 14th Central Committee of the Jiu San Society and on November 22, 2019, he became a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is also president of the Shanghai Volunteer Association for Science and Technology Dissemination.

Fan is mainly engaged in research of biosensors, DNA nanotechnology and computing as well as biophotonics.
