Xie Yi

Xie Yi is an inorganic chemist, an academician of CAS and the World Academy of Sciences, professor of the College of Chemistry and Materials Science at the University of Science and Technology of China, and professor of the National Laboratory for Material Science and Microscale in Hefei Province, China.

In 1998, she won the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, in 2003, she presided over the NSFC funded project for innovative research groups of the Ministry of Chemical Science, and in 2009 she served as the chief scientist of the major research program of the Ministry of Science and Technology named "Research on Key Scientific Issues of Smart Characteristics of Nanomaterials in the Field of Energy Saving". In 2013, she won the International Prize for Outstanding Women in Chemistry and Chemical Engineering, and in 2015 she won the World Outstanding Female Scientist Award.

Xie is mainly engaged in the preparation, structure, theory and performance of inorganic solid functional materials, as well as research on the synthesis methodology of inorganic nanomaterials and the design of inorganic functional solids based on electrical and acoustic modulation.
