The Russian Painters' Dunhuang Oil Painting Exhibition has captured widespread attention since its debut at the 3rd Silk Road (Dunhuang) International Cultural Expo in September 2018.
Guided by the concept of "Eastern culture, Western expression", the exhibition is sponsored by the Gansu Provincial Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the Gansu Provincial Cultural Industry Development Group.

In partnership with the Repin Academy of Fine Arts in Russia, renowned contemporary Russian oil painters were invited to create 100 masterpieces inspired by the Dunhuang murals. These works reinterpret the artistic essence of Dunhuang through contemporary oil painting techniques, artistic language, and unique aesthetic perspectives.
The collection showcases both faithful reproductions of Dunhuang murals and vivid depictions of the region's cultural landscapes. While fully embracing the expressive potential of oil painting, the artists remain deeply committed to preserving the intrinsic spirit of Dunhuang's art.
Distinguished by their unique styles, masterful craftsmanship, and outstanding artistic quality, these works serve as a striking testament to the ongoing cultural dialogue between East and West.
